Design and Technical Drawing Projects completed at the University of Northampton

University Gateway Building

Sustainable Design - to BREEAM Outstanding level.

The Gateway Building provides a striking, sustainable building within the heart of the University. It will serve as the University’s reception, art gallery and events centre as well as the link between the institution and the people of Northampton.

The University Gateway Project was shortlisted as a Finalist for the CIAT Student Award Excellence in Architectural Technology 2022

Second Year - Design Project

Sustainable Building Design in the centre of Northampton

Cedar Farm

Cedar Farm is used to showcase: -

Technical Drawing using Revit.
Design skills for the creation of a Club House for the site.
Rendering of both a detached residence & the Club House.

Terrace House - AutoCad Technical Drawings

Developed a full AutoCad set of drawings - plans, sections, elevations and details linked to an NBS specification document.

Garden House - AutoCad & Revit Practice

Based on manual plans both AutoCad and Revit drawings were created for a new detached property and garage at the top of an existing garden.

The Coach House

First Year - Design Project

The Coach House is designed for dual use as a fashion studio and accommodation.

Design Proposal

Sustainability Strategies

• A main double height indoor market hall for permanent meat, fish and dairy stalls.

• An upper market floor will provide more flexible market spaces with pop-up stalls

• A residential element with three 1 & two 2 bedroom maisonettes that occupy the top 2 floors.

Sustainability Strategies

• Sustainably sourced Cross Laminated Timber panel / Glulam timber column and beam construction

• Prefabricated with on-site assembly

• The application of energy efficient technologies for the provision of services
